Our R&D department doesn’t seem to know what weekends or holidays are!
Of course, we’re not talking about people chained to radiators — just about an unstoppable desire to bring you our new product as soon as possible. Every component we use must meet the highest standards of quality. No compromises! Datasheets are studied thoroughly, but as practice shows: trust, but verify.
This time, it was the 10-amp 1000-volt rectifier bridge’s turn. We needed to make sure that it really was rated for 1000 volts. Did the manufacturer skimp on the diode dies? Their actual surface area matters greatly, as it directly affects the reliability and lifespan of the component.
We also took the opportunity to check the placement of the copper heat-dissipating plates — whether they are closer to the front or back surface. This helps determine the optimal mounting orientation to the heatsink for more efficient cooling.
All tests passed successfully — at the cost of two sacrificial components! Now, back to work…
